The Longest Concert

Mish and Thomas invited my two sisters and myself to go with them to the Brothers of the Sun concert featuring Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney!  And to top it off, my mom offered to babysit all the grandbabies so we didn't even have to hunt for a babysitter!  I was very excited to go and have a girls night with my sisters however, Molly decided she did not want to go with us.  So, Chad was offered her ticket instead.

The concert was on a Sunday and the ticket stated that the concert started at 4:30pm. I assumed it would be over around 9ish. WRONG! There were two opening acts that lasted until 7ish when Tim McGraw came on. Then around 9:30ish Kenny Chesney came on. And then, they were scheduled to duet after that!

We had fun taking pics at the concert!

That's Kenny Chesney behind me and up on the screens!
We had ate lunch at my parents house before we left for the concert but by the time Kenny came on, we were starving again!  We decided to leave the concert around 10:30 and head home.  Mish had rode to the concert with Chad, Megan, and I but went home with Thomas who had met us at the concert after work.

When we left the concert, roads had been blocked off for traffic purposes and the direction our GPS was telling us to go was not accessible.  So, the GPS kept rerouting us!  And we ended up in a dark and shady part of town. We missed a turn and there was a church in front of us so I told Chad to turn around in the church parking lot and go back,  Instead, he followed his GPS and it took us down a dark and narrow one lane road.  We ended up behind a van with the back window missing and bullet holes in the bumper.  The van came to a complete stop and the van door opened.  We were completely stuck behind this van.  Megan was in the back seat hyperventilating.  I can't make up what happened next.  Out jumps a young kid with a GUN in his hand!  Megan and I scream and the kid turns on the gun,  Apparently, it was a flashlight that was made to look like a gun!  He runs up to the front door of a very dark house with no lights on.  Then a girl jumps out of the van and diverts our attention back to the van.  She runs toward the porch of the same house and we look back to find that the boy is nowhere in sight.  We decide at that point that we shouldn't stick around any longer and offroad it around the van.  As we pass by, the very scary looking driver gives us a dirty look.   We hightail it out of there!

Laughing, scared, and so very hurgry, we stop at IHOP for some late dinner.  We eat and then head back to my mom's house for Megan to pick up her purse she left and then to our house where her car was waiting.  I had given Megan back her drivers license in the car before we went into IHOP.  However, when we made it back to my house, she could not find it.  We called the IHOP to see if it fell out at our table but no such luck.  So, after midnight, we drove the 30 minutes back to IHOP to check the parking lot.  We arrived and didn't see it there either and Megan went inside to check once more.  While she was inside, Chad used his phone as a flashlight to scour the parking lot and found her license.  She was very relieved that we finally found it.

What a crazy crazy night!
