Granny & Granddaddy's Birthday
We celebrated Granny and Granddaddy's birthday at Mish's house this year! Mish and I decided that they shouldn't have to cook, clean, and host dinner for everyone on their birthday so we opted to have a little party for them at Mish's!
We decorated in purple and green. Purple for Granny and green for Granddaddy. They acutally looked really good together, just like Granny and Granddaddy. : )
For dinner, we decided on BBQ. Thomas smoked 6 racks of baby back ribs in the smoker. We purchased 2 pounds of pulled chicken from Shane's Rib Shack along with 4 pints of brunswick stew, a Granny favorite. We made green beans, corn on the cob, mac & cheese, and roasted red potatos. The food was all so very good! We ate until we were stuffed!
We had "make your own brownie sundaes" for dessert! YUM!
We also played Minute party games. There was lots of cheering going on!
We had Megan and Molly and then Granny and Granddaddy spinning each other like mummies.
We had Granny and Granddaddy using straws to move M&M's from one bowl to another.
They tied.
They had a race to see who could empty a tissue box the fastest.
We had an intense pretzel flicking competition in which Caleigh was proud to beat Granddaddy.
We rounded out the games with a balloon game where everyone had to keep the balloons in the air first by blowing and then by using any body part but the hands and arms. The games gave everyone a good laugh and were fun to play. Even the little ones had fun "playing."
We opened presents.
Then, we tried to take a few pictures that didn't turn out all that well, but we tried.
Happy Birthday Granny and Granddaddy! We love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday!
